The quartz sleeve is an important component of a properly functioning ultraviolet (UV) light water filter. As well as keeping the ultraviolet lamp at an optimum operating temperature. It protects the ultraviolet (UV) lamp from the water while allowing almost 100% of the germicidal UV light produced to pass through the sleeve and into the water.

Over time the quartz sleeve can become inefficient due to limescale or other persistent dirt. A new quartz sleeve will ensure that the uvc lamp can continue working at its full potentional.
