Vorton UVC units are highly effective, mostly due to a number of key design features.
Water is consistently slowed down inside the unit to provide optimum exposure to the UVC’s.
The UV lamp is housed in an enclosed chamber, ensuring the bulb is operating at peak
performance. Quartz glass tubing is used to cover the UV lamp, for protection, but also,
providing an effective means for the UV rays to penetrate, causing bacteria and algae
to clump solidly, thus being easily grabbed and trapped by bioforce foam filters.
Regular glass will cut UVC penetration by a staggering 90%.
Manufacturers recommend changing your UV bulb at 8000 hours or 6 month intervals, insuring optimal performance.
